Orlando Bloom and his Green Room

Pretty isn’t he?
Now you may think of elves and pirates when you hear the name Orlando Bloom (“Orly”to family, how Pinoy don’ t you think?) but Mr. Bloom is quite serious about contributing to eco-friendly causes. It’s been told that he is constructing a “green” building in his beloved London, making sure that the technology involved in its making is earth friendly - including technology such as solar panels and energy efficient light bulbs.
He also has a hybrid car that he can plug in and charge into a wall socket, instead of merely relying on gas like most of us.
Says Orlando, “It might not be possible for everyone to live a completely green lifestyle, but we can do little things to help slow global warming.” (The Bosh)

He’s also lent a hand to his cousin, Sebastian Copeland, whose photographs of Antarctica were released at the Jan Kenser Gallery in LA, alongside a book entitled “Antarctica: The Global Warning”.
The book was the result of a three-week journey to Antarctica on a ship where our boy Orlando took orders from the crew, slept in a tiny bunk, and *gasp!*had to share a bathroom with over 20 guys and was just like every other joe (but perhaps more dazzingly adorable).
Often included in the list of “Most Searched Celebrities on the Internet”, Orlando surely has an impact on the digital world. Good thing he takes it a step further by actually doing the right thing in the real world!

Based on recent news about the Antarctic, it sounds like Orlando’s habits of switching off unused electronics and driving an electric car is something we should all love him for.
Did you know that the ice caps in Antarctica may be gone within the next 20 years? That’s within our lifetime, folks! Scientists say that all that ice is melting at a rate THREE times faster than ever before. Some have even stated that the amount of ice we have already lost thus far is twice the size of Britain.
The polar ice caps hold most of the fresh water of our planet, and are a huge part of regulating the earth’s climate.
Reason enough to start doing your part.
By the way, its 16 Days ’til Earth Day!
