Lowest Bearing Apple

Dec 29th, 2007 by jessica |

Every year,we find ourselves planning to do something to make a difference –something inspirational maybe, or perhaps join causes and foundations, or contribute to charities and visit the sick and the needy — yet these plans remain to be, um, plans.

Sound familiar ey?

Before i go on, I wanted to thank Ed Begely, Jr. (who is he?) for an educational environmental talk, “Simple Ways to Be Green” , that I attended at the Elephant Pharm last September 21. Why? Simply because what I learned from this talk is what i wanted to impart with you…

…and that is to start with the lowest bearing apple. We don’t necessarily have to do extreme measures to make a difference (but hey if you can, by all means, do so!). Like for us at EEI, we try our best to cause a ripple at helping our environment. And simple economically smart decisions in our everyday lives would already help tons such as reusing shopping bags (how was your plastic consumption at your Christmas shopping by the way?) instead of plastics, cutting down on unnecessary water consumption, switching off the lights and unplugging unused appliances. Want to be of help to the earth too yet still a bit clueless? Keep coming back to read our blogs, we will continue to give doable tips, product reviews and the like, all geared toward preserving our planet called home.

Aside from our personal choices and our Not Plastic Project, below are some highlights of what we girls try to do to engage ourselves into a healthier lifestyle and preserving the environment this year.

Cathy was one of the guest speakers at St. Scholastica College (in the Philippines)’s Ingat Kalikasan to talk about our company’s advocacy on the environment.

Aside from personal choices and attending environmental talks like Ed’s, yes, I volunteered too, unfortunately i had work that day. Hence, I couldnt make it to my designated time shift, so i did the next best thing which was to attend and support the event nevertheless….Check out what this photo was about by clicking on the this (click on this link)

So folks, start picking the lowest bearing apple when it comes to making a difference. Let’s all do the ‘doable’ first, then the rest will follow.

As 2007 is about bid farewell, we wish this coming year will be a good one for all of us– to make an impact in making things better for you, others and the environment. Happy New Year to all of you from the Edgy Ecology, Inc. family
