I scream for… Camel Ice Cream?
The issue today is ice cream. Temptation for many, indulgence for some, source of not-so-fun bathroom trips for a few, and forever here to stay.
Forgive my ignorance (and lack of attention in science class when this was being discussed) but I had no clue that camels produce milk. No clue that they produce milk fit for human consumption. Imagine my surprise to find out that we have camel’s milk ice cream!
Al Ain Dairy, based in the Middle East, has a line of camel’s milk ice cream that is supposedly the “healthiest ice cream available”. Three times fresher and fat content that is lower than regular ice cream (made from, yes, cows), camel’s milk ice cream is also said to include a high content of vitamin C.
The product has three flavors so far - strawberry, chocolate and caramel and is available in leading supermarkets and gasoline stations in the UAE.
So… low fat, three times fresher, and a high vitamin C content. All great reasons to eat this kind of ice cream by the bucket. But call me shallow, I think I still need to get over the whole “camel” part of the equation.

Somehow I’m not sure I’d go there.
What about you?
