Nowadays, it’s easy to forget that, yes, Angelina Jolie does make movies. And thank goodness she does, for if not for her role as Lara Croft in Tomb Raider, she might not have ever become aware of her humanitarian side. It was while she filmed in Cambodia that she realized how the rest of the world lives, especially in poverty-stricken areas. From then on, she has dedicated much of her time (and money) to raising awareness and fighting for change.

The boys of DMB have been known as staunch supporters of the environment for a while now, but it’s heartening to know that they’re pretty creative about supporting the earth (such as “scattering” bikes all over Charlottesville, Virginia as a means to encourage people to use low-cost, zero emission transportation. I want one, Dave!)

Oh Leonardo. Personally, I first saw him turn in a solid performance in 1996′s Marvin’s Room. It was then I said to myself, “The boy can act.”

He also starred in other “respectable” films such as “The Basketball Diaries” and “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape” until he landed the role of Jack in “Titanic“. Teenaged girls all over the world rejoiced! Since then, it seems he’s been on some sort of crusade to prove that he is more than the guy who sank to the bottom of the sea in the name of love.
