Switchfoot learns to breathe

Visitors to Manila last year, San Diego-based rock band Switchfoot has risen steadily, growing from a typical garage band to a world famous act that has sold millions of records. Natalie Portman is one of those young actresses that gossip doesn’t seem to stick to, no matter what. This is refreshing to witness while we have to wade through the murky waters of Britney, Lindsay and other young stars her age who haven’t got it quite as together as she does. Her acting resume is also quite expansive, playing everything from Anne Frank, to a young assassin, to a queen. And let’s not forget her Harvard psychology degree.

Owen Wilson gets back on track

He made news because of personal issues he’s been dealing with, but nowadays Owen Wilson is looking like his old self. Recently he was part of the 80th Annual Academy Awards where he presented for Best Short Film. He was looking mighty fine in that suit by the way.

Perhaps to prepare for his participation at the Oscars, he took a trip to Peru last December where he and buddy Woody Harrelson shared an “eco-friendly” teepee and did their best to look Peruvian. There were reports that the pair also paid a visit to an orphanage. All that fresh air must have done him a world of good.
