A wonderful career, REAL talent, an enviable family life, AND he looks like the gods descended from heaven and became flesh. Yes, Brad Pitt. We get it, you’re awesome.

We mention him today because of yet another notch in “More reasons to love Brad Pitt” belt. We wanted to highlight his personal efforts to do his part in the whole saving-the-earth bit that’s thankfully spreading across the globe like wildfire.

One of his earth-friendly decisions was to replace his personal vehicles and use only hybrid cars, and was quoted in 2001 as saying that President Bush should prioritize the environment and find ways to develop technology that will replace the need for oil.

“…We would not have to rape Alaska, and we wouldn’t have to be dependent on those guys over there. In the long term, if we could free ourselves from the dependency of oil, we’d be alright.”

More recently he has been concentrating on helping Global Green USA rebuild New Orleans through eco-friendly means after Hurricane Katrina swept that region.

Now he may have been in the news recently due to rumors that he and Angelina have finally tied the knot, but thank goodness he’s actually doing something more worthwhile than feeding the rumor mill!

Want to be like Brad? Here’s a tip for today:
Hybrid cars may not yet be available in Manila, so in the meantime keep your car in good shape by having it checked regularly. Get regular tune-ups, keep your tires inflated properly and keep the air filter clean. This will help you pollute less, and use less gas. Better yet, organize a carpool system with friends or if possible, walk/bike to work. Which is not only good for the earth, but your wallet (and your health) as well!

Earth Day is on April 22! That’s 21 days away, people! Watch this space, we’ve got something cookin’ for y’all.

;)
